A Site Summary as of June 1, 2002:

BioMuncie is composed of many web pages. Although twenty subject headings appear on the navigation bar on each page, there are additional pages embedded within the site. In all BioMuncie, contains 39 web pages.  The following shows their general organization.

BioMuncie was created using FrontPage with some adaptive HTML coding. It is relatively unsophisticated from a programmer's perspective and does not meet Bobby requirements for handicap accessibility. The average download time per page is less than 30 seconds. However, the About Muncie and Drainage Ditch pages are slow to load, closer to 100 seconds, due to intensive graphics.

As of June 1, 2002 there were over a thousand external hyperlinks contained within BioMuncie.  FrontPage is used to maintain the site and check for broken hyperlinks on a monthly basis. This is a time consuming process because many links (particularly pdf files) can not be verified by FrontPage and must  be checked by hand.

A Google search engine was added to BioMuncie in April when the site became too large to easily scan for information. It is now at the point where new pages are needed. Technology Solutions will need to be broken into three pages in anticipation of the fourth Coffee House, which will focus on environmentally friendly technology. Preparation for this public session will require reorganization and the addition of new material.

Information on the Web is continually changing. New sites appear while others disappear. For instance, for several months the DOE sites were inaccessible as they were being checked for national security reasons. Thus all the associated Fish and Wildlife sites on endangered species were down. These links were not removed but rather annotated with a note of explanation on the assumption that the information would become public again. Sites that are not likely to return are simply removed.
